Dutch Order

I am very intrigued by "The Dutch Order"

The Dutch pride themselves on the creation of their own land. Being the current winner in their fight against water.
But that is not the only way the Dutch control nature.

Every centimetre of this country is cultivated and has a specific use.
Even the forest is planted.
Nothing is raw.
Nothing is left untouched.
From above, the Netherlands appears like a chessboard of human order, where cities, roads, and waterways are arranged in a carefully planned grid.

But is this only visible when you zoom out? Or has it become intrinsic in our day-to-day lives?

In this photo collection, I explore how this controlled approach is mirrored on a smaller scale.
